Berlin is the capital of Germany and also its largest city. It is located in the northeast of the country and is home to more than 4 million people. Did you know that Berlin is 9 times bigger than Paris and has 1,700 bridges, more than Venice?
After the World War II, the city was divided into two parts surrounded by the Berlin Wall. In 1989 the wall was destroyed, followed by the German reunification in 1990. As a result, Berlin regained its status as the capital of Germany. Having bounced back confidently from 20th century division, Berlin is has become one of Europe’s most exciting destinations.
Today Berlin, home to a multicultural population, is a city of culture, media, science and creativity.
Don’t miss the magnificent view of the city from the top of the iconic Fernsehturm (television tower), a lazy walk in the Tiergarten and an enriching visit of the Pergamon Museum, the Reichstag building and the Brandenburg gate.
The cityscape of Berlin is still changing today. However visitors can still find landmarks in relation to events from the past. History amateurs will be keen to discover the Checkpoint Charlie and a segment of the Berlin Wall, reminders of a city which has been marked by the cold war.
Culture enthusiasts will be delighted by the art of the Old Masters, present-day paintings or avant-garde design of tomorrow, classical opera, musical or pop concert, sophisticated theatre or the variety shows. Highlights are the Unter den Linden National Opera and the Deutsche Opera.
Drop in one of the many restaurants which offer different cuisines - From Berliner specialities such as Currywurst (curried sausage), Buletten (meatballs) to award-winning cuisine, Australian cuisine, French cuisine and Asian dishes, you have a wide variety of choice.

I enjoyed the trip with family. The seats were comfortable and the service from the cafeteria was also great.
- "SEATING DEBACLE" Lindsay k. 21/01/2015
I also travelled via Rail Europe from Brussels to Dusseldorf the week previously and had the same problem. Notwithstanding the fact that I had booked my tickets some four months in advance my wife and I got the worst seats available. On both occasions we were seated next to a pillar and the view was non-existent Not very nice for a visitor to Europe at all.!
- "Excellent" Leopoldo Armando g. 29/12/2014
Comfortable, courteous, in time. Excellent experience.
- "awesome" Liu, Kuei-hua c. 04/12/2014
- "no meal" Ishani p. 28/11/2014
The website says meals are included but there were no meals provided. My mistake may be.
- "train journey in europe" Gajendran k. 13/11/2014
I am glad I chose to travel by Rail Europe . We had a pleasant journey. Their prompt service- from delivering the tickets to my doorstep to the seats reserved made this trip most memorable.
- "our review about the trip." Assaf p. 19/10/2014
hello, our travel by train was comfort, and we slept well. the room and the bed were clean. in the middle of the way the train had a mechanical problem in the engine, the train stopped, and the crew updated the passengers in English, and it was very thoughtful. the steward was very nice. we would like to use this service next time when we will travel. thank you.
- "Berlin to Copenhagen 5 August" Marguerite f. 15/08/2014
Wonderful journey. The train being an hour late did not affect any plans I had. The staff on the train were courteous and helpful. The short journey on the ferry to Denmark was most enjoyable. I had not realised until I arrived at the Berlin station that I had mistakenly booked an aisle seat. I went to the ticket office to try and change the seat booking to a window seat, but the person there said she could not do that. This was very disappointing. I spent most of the journey standing in the corridor near the cafe in order to view the countryside. Seeing that area of Germany was the main reason I chose to travel by train. Standing for such a long time was tiring, especially since I am no longer young, but I did have a good view. It would be very helpful if the main office at the Berlin station was able to adjust a seat booking. Yours sincerely Marguerite Fahy

Convenient and comfortable. A little more expensive than I would have liked, but overall, a reasonable price for the convenience.
- "Travel from Paris to Berlin " Wai Ling t. 05/06/2014
This is my first time to have overnight train, it was good experience. The train was clean, toilet was ok. I still can slept for few hours even I was in the six seat cabin. In addition, I can save time and money when I went to Berlin by the city night train.
- "Satisfactory trip" Benjamin a. 26/05/2014
We choose the overnight train because it suited our budget and saved on accommodation, the carriage was ok space wise but we could not store our bags anywhere so had to block half the compartment and blocked access to the sink - the beds were more comfortable than a previous overnight trip and the breakfast a nice inclusion. We had an issue with the toilet in the morning which was blocked and not working so was not a nice end to the trip.
- "mulhouse to zurich" . 20/05/2014
Great and comfortable

I'm surprised when I found my reservation is not 1st class, and the staff of the lounge in Berlin don't accept my staying in the lounge.
