Cityscape

Arrive by train to the capital Podgorica, where a third of Montenegrin’s live. Enjoy the diverse history with colonnades and aqueducts of antique civilisations, as well as minarets and Turkish spas remaining from the Ottoman Empire. You’ll find medieval Christian architecture and painting on one side, and modern urban architecture on the other. For museums and galleries the capital of history, Cetinje is a better bet than the capital.

Landscape

Often known as the ‘pearl of the Mediterranean’ Montenegro is a country rich in natural beauty with clear lakes, picturesque mountains and sandy beaches. Take an evening walk in the Montenegrin mountains, and with four national parks you’ll never be short of a route.

Take Home

Visit the coastal town of Budva, well known for its sandy beaches, diverse nightlife, and beautiful Mediterranean architecture, you’re sure to pick up a bargain in the Old Town. Visit the summer bazaar next to the promenade selling clothes, gallantry, beach equipment and souvenirs.

Eat & Drink

The cuisine in Montenegro is diverse and always uses local produce. Enjoy freshwater fish on the banks of Lake Skadar or hearty meals in highland pastures. Each region is proud of its homemade cheese production so travel around to find your favourite, and the rich wine is the product of idyllic sunny vineyards.

New Perspective

Visit Mogren Beach, it’s made of two 80m long beaches connected with a tunnel. It’s only 150m away from old Budva city and has a beach bar and scuba diving club.
